Downtown Nashville’s Dog Parks + Perks For Pet Owners

March 25, 2022  /  Downtown Nashville Blog

It’s certainly not new news that Nashville is a growing city. It is a major center for music, of course, but it’s also an explosion of cultural attractions, art, activity, and nearly 600 dining and retail destinations within downtown. And… dogs! Nearly 4,000 pups live here and wag their tails on daily strolls throughout downtown’s 1.8 walkable square miles.

Here is a list of dog parks - and other pet amenities - in the downtown neighborhood where you and your furry friends can frolic.

Frankie Pierce Park

Located in downtown’s Capitol View neighborhood, Frankie Pierce Park is the largest green space downtown and has something for everyone—including your furry friends! The fenced-in dog park features a paved walkway and a large area of artificial grass, perfect even for rainy days (no mud!).  While you’re there, enjoy the stroll through the larger park area, which features a playground, yoga lawn, and sand volleyball court.

Downtown Dog Park

Located in Riverfront Park, Downtown Dog Park features artificial grass with a perimeter, so your pup has little chance of getting dirty. Amenities include provided doggy bags and city views for days! From the Downtown Dog Park, go ahead and take a stroll throughout Riverfront Park, cross the river via the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, or connect to the nearby Greenway.

Gulch Dog Park

Located in one of Nashville’s trendiest neighborhoods, the Gulch Dog Park is a beautiful place to walk your pet, with murals painted by local artists located around the grassy space. The park is divided into two fenced sections: a large dog area approximately 3,500 square feet and a small dog area approximately 1,500 square feet, providing your pup plenty of space to play! Amenities include a community hub with a food truck and gathering area for humans. Added bonus: you can make a day out of it with nearby dog-friendly patios and the locally owned pet shop, Pet Wants!

PupsNPlay Dog Park

Located outside Bridgestone Arena on Sixth Avenue, the PupsNPlay Dog Park can't be missed! This gated space features a double gate system for safety, benches, waste stations and a hydration station. This space has been a big hit for the pups of downtown Nashville. You and your pup might even meet Preds mascot Gnash - what a great treat! The park was developed through a partnership between the Predators, Mars Petcare and the City of Nashville.
