Creating a World-Class Public Realm

These projects highlight how the Nashville Downtown Partnership enhances downtown's public spaces - creating moments of beauty, comfort, and connection. See some of our placemaking initiatives below:

Historic 2nd Ave Outdoor Dining

Outdoor dining along 2nd Avenue has transformed the street into a lively destination where guests can enjoy meals while taking in the area’s historic charm. With Nashville Downtown Partnership's support, local restaurants were able to develop patio seating and create inviting spaces that encourage people to linger, dine, and reconnect with the district.

Holiday Decorating

This installation at Walk of Fame Park brought a playful and festive touch to the space, featuring a larger-than-life skeleton. It created a memorable experience for guests and encouraged more people to stop, explore, and enjoy the park!

Planters at Walk of Fame Park

Located in Walk of Fame Park, this welcoming space features custom-built planters that bring nature into the heart of downtown and a canopy of string lights that create an energetic yet relaxed atmosphere for gatherings and events. In the gravel area, visitors can enjoy lunch at the picnic tables or join free weekly programs like Singo Music Bingo.

Planting Flowers

Flowers and plants line the streets of downtown, creating a welcoming and beautiful atmosphere while adding color, texture, and life to the urban landscape. These thoughtfully placed greenery accents enhance the pedestrian experience, invite exploration, and highlight the vibrancy of downtown.

Downtown Arboretum

Launched in 2025, the Downtown Arboretum introduces pockets of green throughout the city, offering peaceful retreats amid the urban landscape. Certain trees in the arboretum are identified with a plaque showing its species and features a QR code for visitors to learn more, making it an interactive way to explore and connect with downtown's natural beauty.

Puppy Pad

The Puppy Pad is a small, dog-friendly space where owners can walk their pups for a potty break or a drink of water. It's a practical, welcoming addition to downtown that supports pet owners while keeping public spaces clean and enjoyable for everyone. Now located in both the Historic Core off Church St. across from the 505 & in the Gulch off Division St, next to Canine Concepts.
