On August 18, 1920, Tennessee cast the deciding vote to ratify the 19th Amendment, securing women's right to vote. Supporters of women's voting rights, known as suffrage, wore yellow roses, while opponents wore red.
In celebration of International Women's Day, stop by Church Street Park from 12 pm - 2 pm to get a yellow rose + enjoy Suffrage Saturdays, a free concert series celebrating the voices of women in music & honoring Nashville’s historic role in the women’s suffrage movement.
Women can bring their yellow rose to the The Pink Hermit Cafe in the Hermitage Hotel for a 20% discount. (on 3/8 only)
