Details
Join in Church Street Park for Suffrage Saturdays, a special free concert series celebrating the voices of women in music and honoring Nashville’s historic role in the women’s suffrage movement. Each Saturday in March, Song Suffragettes, Nashville's only all-female acoustic showcase, will spotlight one of the city's best next-generation female singer-songwriters, with a diverse range of genres performed in an intimate, acoustic setting.
Song Suffragettes has been empowering and showcasing emerging female talent for over 10 years, providing a platform for rising stars to share their music and stories. This inspiring series takes place at Church Street Park, where history was made in 1920 when Tennessee cast the deciding vote for the 19th Amendment, securing women's right to vote. The park is surrounded by historic landmarks like the Tennessee State Capitol and the Hermitage Hotel, linking the past with the present. Across the street, the Nashville Public Library – Main Branch houses the Votes for Women Room, celebrating the women’s suffrage movement.
Come for the music, stay for the message—experience the powerful blend of past and present as we honor the women who fought for equality while amplifying the voices of today’s rising stars. Best of all, it’s completely free to attend!
