The Best Downtown Rooftops

March 17, 2023  /  Downtown Nashville Blog

The downtown Nashville skyline is changing every day – and that means new and renewed spots to soak in Nashville’s fabulous weather. We know, so many choices – it’s a lot to keep up with! So we’ve compiled a list of the top downtown rooftops off the beaten path that you need to know about!

Denim at The Joseph

Denim, located on the 21st-floor of this stunning SoBro boutique hotel, is The Joseph’s all-day, indoor-outdoor rooftop lounge — centered around a gorgeous outdoor pool and deck. The casual menu features fresh salads, wood-fired pizzas, and finely roasted meats, served with sweeping skyline and Cumberland River views.

Fins Bar at the Margaritaville Hotel

The perfect place in Nashville to get into a Margaritaville state of mind, the Fins Bar overlooks downtown and the hotel’s festive rooftop pool. Offering the ONLY beach bar vibe in the SoBro, Fins Bar has an extensive collection of margaritas, boat drinks, frozen concoctions, and a fresh & fun inspired menu.

Harriet’s Rooftop at 1 Hotel Nashville

Located on the 19th floor of this stunning, sustainable hotel, Harriet’s Rooftop offers guests delicious drinks, light bites, and exclusive views from its unparalleled SoBro location. As one of downtown’s newest rooftop additions, Harriet’s raises the bar for Nashville’s evolving nightlife scene.

High Spirits

High Spirits is an indulgent rooftop lounge & night club experience. Serving up craft cocktails and an incredible view of Nissan Stadium across the Cumberland River, this is the only rooftop you’ll find in Historic Printers Alley!

lou/na at The Grand Hyatt Nashville

Inspired by legendary Louisville & Nashville rail lines that passed directly through the site of the Grand Hyatt for over a century, lou/a’s spelling and pronunciation also evoke the Latin word for “moon”. And you will feel like the moon is within reach from this stunning rooftop venue that features indoor and outdoor seating, delicious beverage and culinary creations, entertainment and breathtaking views of downtown.

L27 at The Westin Nashville

L27 sits, as you might have guessed, on the 27th floor. And it’s the city’s ideal retreat to unwind, sip, and savor. Featuring a dazzling sun-drenched skyline view, a refreshing outdoor terrace for fresh air and light bites, and a cozy indoor lounge for intimate conversation and well-crafted cocktails, be prepared to stay awhile.

Proof at W Nashville

Featuring 270° views over downtown, this indoor/outdoor rooftop bar is the place to both see and be seen in downtown’s popular Gulch neighborhood. PROOF features a bespoke cocktail menu, local beers, light bites, and brunch on Saturday. This space is also home to some of our most eye-catching art. See: Reverie, a morphing-light sculpture by the Nashville-based Cour Design, and iconic photographs by the “godfather of Rock N’ Roll photography,” Jim Marshall.

Rare Bird at Noelle

Rare Bird, a rooftop bar and lounge located on the 13th floor, overlooks the downtown skyline and the Cumberland River, serving handcrafted cocktails and bites. As you make your way up, be sure to admire the beautiful historic architecture of the hotel, originally a bank built in 1930.

Skye Lounge at Sheraton Grand

Once a rotating fine dining restaurant in the 1970’s, the unmistakable orb sitting 28 stories high was closed to the public for a long period of time before being reintroduced as a private event space in 2016 and later (like, very recently) a cocktail lounge. Not many Nashvillians have kept up with all this change, and for this reason it might just be downtown’s best kept secret. While the space no longer rotates, cornerless walls of windows and 360° views all but guarantees that every seat is fabulous!

Tennessee Brew Works

While Tennessee Brew Works isn’t a traditional rooftop, you’ll be amazed by the views from the second patio of this local brewhouse located in the Pie Town neighborhood of downtown. You’re bound to see a laid back crowd of music industry professionals, nearby residents, and tourists alike enjoying TBW’s “finely tuned craft beer” while listening to live music. Pro tip: Great views pair wonderfully with a flight of locally made beer, perfect for the indecisive!

The Twelve Thirty Club Rooftop

Elevate your perspective from the rooftop bar at the Twelve Thirty Club and feel the pulse of Lower Broadway down below. Whether you belly up to the bar for a beer or lounge on an outdoor couch with a cocktail, you’ll revel in the elevated vibes and enjoy the company of friends all night long.

Up! Rooftop Lounge at Fairfield Inn & Suites

Up, a rooftop lounge perched atop the Fairfield by Marriott in the Gulch, has all the ingredients for a memorable outing. Locals, in particular, will love the unique view of downtown’s many cranes and evolving skyline while enjoying charcuterie boards, burgers, craft beers, wine, cocktails, and more.
