2021 Outstanding Achievement Awards

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Eight downtown Nashville transformational projects of 2021 were recognized at Nashville Downtown Partnership’s sold-out Annual Meeting & Awards Luncheon, Presented by Vanderbilt University, on November 2 at the Omni Nashville Hotel.

Outstanding Achievement Awardees, in the categories of LIVE, WORK, PLAY and INVEST, represent developments, institutions and public spaces that contribute significantly to the value of downtown Nashville’s urban core. The 2021 Award Winners are:

LIVE Award:

WORK Award:

Amazon Center for Excellence, Amazon

PLAY Award:

Fifth + Broadway

Hyatt Centric

W Nashville

INVEST Award:

Voorhees Building and Antiques Mall/Paseo South Gulch, SomeraRoad

Richard Florida, the event’s keynote speaker and one of the world’s leading urbanists, closed his remarks by congratulating the 1,000 business and community leaders in the room: “It’s remarkable what you [the Nashville community] have achieved.”

Additionally, Nashville Downtown Partnership’s Heroic Service Award was presented to Metro Nashville Police and Nashville Fire Department in honor of the first responders on last year’s Christmas day explosion and their service and commitment to the community year-round. A total of $20,000 was gifted to three charities benefitting local service members and their families as a tribute to their invaluable and ongoing contributions to our community.

“Each [award winner] in their own way are improving the downtown experience for all of us,” said NDP President and CEO, Tom Turner. “Congratulations to this year’s award winners and thank you for your tremendous contributions to make downtown Nashville a great place to LIVE, WORK, PLAY, and INVEST.”
