Robert Cray, born in Georgia and raised in Washington, first picked up a guitar after seeing The Beatles on television. Witnessing Jimi Hendrix perform in Seattle solidified his path: his destiny would follow a similar groove. Across five decades, Cray has created a richly inclusive American music, revitalizing both blues and soul while rocking hard with the very best. He has released 19 studio albums of his distinctive songs, winning five Grammy Awards along the way, and continues to make music that sounds like no one else.
