At age twenty, Kacey Musgraves moved 600 miles from her home in Golden, Texas, to pursue a music career in Nashville. Ten years to the day after that fateful trip, Musgraves won Album of the Year at the CMA Awards. What journeys have you taken or do you dream of taking? In this introductory group workshop, join a museum educator to write a song inspired by the musical journey of Kacey Musgraves. Music professional Adam Ollendorff will teach the fundamentals of songwriting, including form, theme, and rhyme scheme. Participants will share ideas and write an original song.
