Grammy-nominated bluegrass group Sister Sadie formed in 2012 for an impromptu show at Nashville’s famous Station Inn. They became the first all-women group to win the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Vocal Group of the Year award in 2019 (and then won the honor in 2020 and 2021 as well) and were named IBMA Entertainer of the Year in 2020. The group’s current lineup includes Gena Britt (banjo and vocals), Hasee Ciaccio (acoustic bass), Deanie Richardson (fiddle), and Jaelee Roberts (guitar and vocals). Artifacts from a previous iteration of the group including founding members Tina Adair and Dale Ann Bradley, is featured in the museum’s exhibition American Currents: State of the Music, which highlights the music of 2020. Presented in support of Ford Community Day. Ford Theater. Included with museum admission. Program ticket required. Free.
