Join during the May 10 Art Crawl for the Opening Reception of Spectacle, an exhibition curated by Mouminatou Thiaw and Mac Cooper that showcases the abstract paintings of Sean Heiser and the mixed-media woodwork of Alexis Jones. This exhibition presents artists using a closeness with the outer world to somatically connect with their inner selves.
This exhibition offers the community an opportunity to sit in stillness and value the slower cycles of the natural world, like clouds floating through the sky, or the wind slowly shaping canyons. As technology and fear equip an increasingly individualistic society to remain inwardly focused, Spectacle channels the attention and admiration through a push and pull, looking between self and sky.
