Join Nashville PBS for a free preview screening of Made in the West, a co-production about American functional art in the American West and the tradition of passing skills from one generation of craftspeople to the next.

The event begins with a reception, followed by the documentary screening. Afterward there will be a discussion with coppersmith/silversmith Ben Caldwell and wood sculptor/furniture maker Brad Sells, two artisans featured in the film, as well as Steven Gentile, Ed.D., executive director of the Tennessee Higher Education Commission. Harris Haston, chairman of the nonprofit By Western Hands, will moderate this conversation about functional art as a viable career path for young people.
