Jimmy Hall first gained popularity as the lead vocalist, saxophonist, and harmonica player for the band Wet Willie, emerging from Mobile, Alabama. His unique brand of R&B-infused rock and roll and onstage swagger propelled the group’s signature song, “Keep on Smilin’” to the Top 10 on the Billboard singles chart in 1974. After seven albums with Capricorn Records, Wet Willie moved forward to Epic Records releasing the singles “Street Corner Serenade” and “Weekend,” both hitting the US Top 40 as five other songs placed in the Billboard Top 100. Jimmy is a member of the Alabama and Georgia Music Halls of Fame and the South Carolina Beach Music Hall of Fame. He has toured as the lead vocalist of the Jeff Beck band around the world across decades and has served as the long-time band leader of the Hank Williams Jr. band. Jimmy is routinely featured as a guest artist for the Allman Betts Family Revival, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Blackberry Smoke and others. In 2021 Jimmy achieved Grammy status in the Best Gospel Roots Album category as a featured guest artist on the Fisk Jubilee Singers’ album Celebrating Fisk! for his performance of “I Saw the Light.” Jimmy’s most recent solo album “Ready Now” was released in 2022 on Keeping the Blues Alive Records and produced by Blues luminary, Joe Bonamassa, instantly achieving a #1 Blues Album spot on the Billboard charts.
