Join a museum educator to write a song as a group in this introductory workshop. Music professional Adam Ollendorff will teach the fundamentals of songwriting, including form, theme, and rhyme scheme. Participants will share ideas and write an original song inspired by the song “Once a Day,” written by Hall of Fame Member Bill Anderson and recorded by more than fifty artists, including Loretta Lynn, Dean Martin, Van Morrison, and Connie Smith. Ollendorff played steel guitar as a member of Kacey Musgraves’s band, and his songs have been recorded by Will Hoge and Keb’ Mo’. Recommended for ages 7 and up, but all are welcome. Taylor Swift Education Center. Limited seating. Included with museum admission. Free to museum members. Youth from Davidson County and counties that surround Davidson may enter the museum free as part of the Museum’s Community Counts initiative. Up to two accompanying adults receive 25 percent off admission. Proof of residency required. For more information, please visit Community Counts or inquire at the Box Office.
