During this workshop, learn about Renaissance knights and the decoration, function, making, and meaning of their arms and armor. After a tour of Knights in Armor, participants will discuss the exhibition and curriculum connections while participating in an art-making activity.
Then, the workshop will move to The Forge Nashville where makers Duncan Stephenson and Erin Hewgley will provide an overview of the history of metalworking and demonstrate how to forge a spear.  Participants should wear long sleeves and pants, natural-fiber clothing, and closed-toed shoes (preferably boots, no sneakers). No polyester or workout gear.
