Songwriter and recording artist Ronnie Bowman wrote 2016’s Academy of Country Music Song of the Year, "Nobody to Blame," recorded by Chris Stapleton, as well as "It’s Getting Better All the Time" (Brooks & Dunn), "Never Wanted Nothing More" (Kenny Chesney) and songs recorded by the Grascals, Cody Johnson, Irene Kelley, Jake Owen, Ralph Stanley, Sam Williams and Lee Ann Womack. From 1990 to 2001, Bowman served as vocalist and bass player for the bluegrass group Lonesome River Band, during which time their album Carrying the Tradition (1991) was named the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Album of the Year. Bowman has also won multiple IBMA awards for his solo music, including Song of the Year honors for "Cold Virginia Night" and "Three Rusty Nails."
