Tom Piazza, author of Living in the Present with John Prine, will discuss his recently published book, joined by Fiona Prine, wife and manager of the late singer-songwriter. Piazza’s vibrant and moving book was born from the friendship between the writer and the acclaimed musician in his final years. Begun in early 2020 as a memoir narrated by John to Tom, the book evolved into a portrait of their friendship after Prine's unexpected death from COVID-19. Piazza is a novelist and a writer on American music, and is the author of thirteen books. His work has appeared in the New York Times, The Atlantic, Bookforum, and other publications. The Museum’s Erin Osmon will moderate the conversation. Following the conversation, Piazza will sign copies of the book available for purchase in the theater.
