BANNED: A Book Happy Hour for people not afraid to read. This month we're reading Long Division by Kiese Laymon. It's a wild tale of two Citys (the main characters are both named Citoyen "City" Coldson) who live in Mississippi. One lives in 2013, the other in 1985. It's hilarious and gut-punching and brilliant. This book is such a good read, you'll wonder why Laymon doesn't have more fiction out in the world. But don't worry--his nonfiction is also banned or challenged in several communities, so we will certainly spend more time with Laymon's language.
