Join fiber artist Peg Fredi for a demonstration of spinning yarn among the textiles and fiber arts on display in Weaving Splendor: Treasures of Asian Textiles from The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.

Dr. Peg Fredi has been teaching art for the past twenty-five years. With a background in biology and chemistry, she has studied the domestication of the silkworm for the silk industry. Fredi served as president of the Handweavers Guild of Nashville and on the board of Tennessee Agricultural Museum, where she shared her weaving and spinning skills with schoolchildren around Middle Tennessee. She is also a regular at Turtle Island Preserve in North Carolina, where she demonstrates weaving and spinning.
