Join the Frist and the Clay Lady’s Campus for a clay sculpture workshop led by Cassis Pitman. The day will begin with a self-guided tour of the exhibition Shahpour Pouyan: Winter in Paradise at the museum before participants will meet at the Clay Lady’s Campus. There, participants will learn clay-slab and hand-building techniques to make architectural structures with a variety of basic forms. Guided carving, stamping, and textural design will be used for meaningful surface decoration. Each participant will create a fully decorated clay-sculpted structure to be kiln fired and picked up by the student in two weeks at the Clay Lady’s Campus.
Ages 18+ only. Space is limited. All skill levels are welcome.
Price: $60 members; $75 not-yet-members (gallery admission, and parking validation included)
