This workshop will serve as an introduction to natural dyes and eco-printing for fabric and textiles. From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.,  learn about natural dyes found in nature at Buchanan Arts in North Nashville, utilizing the Buchanan Arts Community Garden for a discussion on ethical foraging practices and diverse fabric dyeing techniques. Students will practice these techniques by creating a small set of one-of-a-kind naturally-dyed cotton napkins to take home with them.

lunch break from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., then students may take an optional docent-guided tour at the Frist Art Museum from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. This tour will focus on selected works in Farm to Table: Art, Food, and Identity in the Age of Impressionism that exemplify relationships between food, art, and horticulture.
